THE SALAMANDER
What makes a Salamander ExtraOrdinary??
Salamanders, like Morrie, have a hinge in their throats that is made of cartilage and is attached to their tongue. Other amphibians do not have this. When the salamander sticks out its tongue to catch its prey, the hinge pushes the tongue muscle forward, giving it an additional thrust. Thus, the salamander tongue is the fastest tongue of all amphibians! THIS is EXTRAORDINARY!
